A domain name transfer between registrants usually involves the written authorization from the current Registrant. Each Registrar is allowed to set its own rules, as long as the rules ensure that the current Registrant provides authorization to transfer the domain name to another Registrant in written form. For domain names managed directly by Nic AG, the requirement is a fax on company letterhead if the Registrant is an organization, or a notorized fax if the Registrant is an individual.
