What is a Registry?

A domain name Registry (usually referred to simply as Registry) is an electronic or physical collection of all relevant registration information related to all domain names within a particular TLD. For example, the .AG Registry consist of various interrated and centralized electronic databases that contain a list of all registered .AG domain names, related domain name contacts and DNS details, as well as registration, expiration and modification dates.
