What is a Registrar?

A Registrar is an authorized person, business or organization that is usually accredited by the Registry to manage the registration, renewals, transfers, modifications and deletion of domain names within the Registry on behalf of the end-user or Registrant.  A Registrar usually has direct access to the Registry, and can perform ALL domain name transactions allowed in that Registry without the Registry Operator's involvement. All domain names managed by the Registrar is considered to be SPONSORED by the Registrar. All interactions of the end-user with the Registry MUST be done via the Registrar or with its explicit permission.
