Who is considered the Registrant for a Domain Name?

The WHOIS output from a domain name search result within the Registry usually shows both Registrant Name and Registrant Organization under the Registrant section. Sometimes there is confusion as to which one is actually the Registrant. For the .AG and .LC Registries, our policy is simple: if the Organization Field contains an Organization name, the Registrant is the Organization listed, even if the Registrant name is also filled in. In this case, the person listed under Registrant Name is considered to be an AGENT or EMPLOYEE of the Organization, and only Represents the Registrant.

In cases where a person is the Registrant, the Organization Field MUST be left blank, or filled in with the same name of the person or intended Registrant.
